Running in Honor of Fallen Heroes
|

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
- John 15:13
“Most Americans who die in combat do not receive a Medal of Honor.
Each and every one of them should, but they do not. Our organization
attempts to change that by enabling marathon runners to run in honor of a
Fallen Hero. By running for those who sacrificed their lives for our
freedom, the marathon finisher’s medal - we believe - becomes a Medal of
Honor.”
- Roland Bowler
Completing a marathon is an extremely difficult process. The run stresses the
body and the mind up to and then past internal limits never seen before. The
medal representing the completion of that goal is significant. The finisher’s medal
represents pride, discipline, toughness, dedication, perseverance … and most of
all: sacrifice. These are the same exact characteristics of our fighting men and
women who have lost their lives in war defending American Freedom.
Our mission is clear: We want you to consider running your marathon in honor of a
Fallen Hero. Also, we want you to turn your finisher's medal into a Medal of Honor
by giving it to another mourning family - and we will gladly help you accomplish this
goal.
